Round Table Discussion
In this article I write about my experience at the hearing, one of the books being read, some of the speakers and arguments.
On April 27th , Deer Park ISD had their first monthly meeting.
Before the hearing, I met up with rep Briscoe Cain, Rick Scarborough, Bonnie Wallace and pastor Doug of Central Baptist Church. All of which were speaking to the school board. Everyone was seated around a large round glass table. I introduced myself and they began to discussed their plans. They were welcoming, in me to joining in the discussions and I got to ask them some of my listed questions. Mr Cain, preferred to answer them after the hearings.
We talked about the books in the library and which she was going to read, the political landscape of Texas, and their travel plans. It was a an honor and delight to be there.. later in the DP ISD, Dr Scarborough and Doug talked about their experience in pastoring, Dough started his ministry when he was 15! I expressed I felt like I had a calling this direction. Dr Scarborough, said I should go to this pastors conference in Whichita Kansas, called Liberty Pastors, a liberty network partner.

Bonnie emphasis's that no books are being burned or banned, but there should be boundaries for children, especially for tax payer funded schools. That the children are in crisis mode, and people need to wake up!
Briscoe Cain's Testimony
Rep Cain argued the effects,
"Exposure to sexual content nearly double the possibility that the child will have problematic sexual behaviors and doubles again if that sexual content is violent."
He spoke clearly and firm with a well presented argument. Naming a few more of the books that that are graphically explicit and that contain QR codes that take children to sex shops and pornographic websites.
That these books aren't allowed in prisons and the FCC prohibits obscene or indecent exposure between the hours of 6am-10pm. For the reason that a child might see it.
In a later interview, Mr Cain, said that this is an agenda being pushed by librarians. also, for people to make an impact, to show up to their school board meetings and found out what are in their school libraries.

Richard Vega's Testimony
running for commissioner court was there, telling the board two years ago to remove these books out and nothing had still been done. That these books are banned in prisons, but are allowed in public schools?
Rick Scarborough's Testimony
Dr Scarborough is a Pastor, author, and national Christian leader with influence across churches, education, media, and civic engagement. He is also the founder of Vision America and Recover America, equipping pastors to engage cultural and civic issues from a Biblical worldview. His website.
Dr Scarborough, started by appealing to the boards love and care for children's education, being the reason they're sitting on the board, and reminded them there is a millstone waiting for anyone who would allow harm to these little ones, and expressed a gentle but firm warning, of action from his legal team.
Matthew 18:6 ESV. Jesus say's,
“but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.”
Pastor Doug's Testimony
Gave the most impassioned testimony, calling the board to accountability, for putting this filth in tax payer funded schools. Being one the only local pastors in his community to come forward to say something against these books he issued clear direct warnings, reminding them of the stewardship of their children.
My Testimony
I didn't actually plan to speak. I hadn't time to write or register before hand, but when I heard you could just sign up on the spot, I opt'd in with everyone else. I didn't speak for very long, and I was told I didn't come across like a weird homeschooler. Being home educated, but, Still having an vested interest in the future and funding of societies education, same as the next property tax payer. I asked them if these books uplift or encourage and how do they edify?

Dissenting Opinions
Several women, came forward and all gave roughly the same argument. That we're banning books and students shouldn't be limited in their exploration of knowledge.
No one is banning books, you can go buy this filth on Amazon. If you want to buy those books and let your kids read them, although then I would question child abuse.
And the unbridled pursuit of knowledge, sounds a lot a like the story the serpent told eve, a dangerous warning with consequences. People are being deceived that these things are not wicked perversion.
This is war on children's hearts and minds.
Final Thoughts
Do we want to expose children to sexual violence and abuse? These books have no redeeming value, are widely offensive and have intent to stimulate and sexually arouse, these texts are obscene against Texas state law and do not belong in schools or libraries.
I directly asked the board at the end, who was buying these books? Another man beside me said, thats a "good question!". They gave the outrageous answer of "We dont know". I recommended strongly that they fire, whoever it was. How is it the education board of Deer Park ISD, doesn't know who's responsible for the procurement of their books?
